Taste of the Holidays with a fall twist!

So glad you enjoyed it.  When our milk man came in with egg nog so early I was so surprised.  They were offering a new pumpkin egg nog.  I was hesitant until I tried it and of course added our own spin to it.  I am convinced that much like the times during the great depression people are wanting anything that will help them remember “good times.  Taste and sensory are powerful and can in fact transport you to happier times.  The Holidays are coming early this year!

Autumn leaves are vivid!

The cold snap really amplifies the colors of the leaves here the past few days.  We have lost leaves in the higher elevations however; I do not think we are a peak yet.   It is beautiful fall weather crisp and chilly in the morning, sunny afternoons and chilly evenings which is perfect for the Fall Festival of Flavors we are serving up like Pumpkin Lattes and Caramel Apple Ciders.

Keeping it fresh!

You are right.  Once you taste fresh roasted beans the brands at the grocery store do taste differently.  One question asked daily in our stores “Is it ground?’  Our answer is “We will sell no grind before its time”.  We grind coffee fresh to order!

Wake up and Smell the coffee

Thanks for letting us know!  Did you know that coffee is a neutralizer?  All of us at Coffee & Company can not smell what you guys smell when entering the store.  We can smell what we are grinding or roasting or flavoring only.  Department stores use coffee beans to clean sensory when you are trying different perfumes.  More so when working in our Village location we can smell peoples perfumes, colognes and even fabric softener on their clothing.

Fresh roasted coffee in the Smokies

Yes we roast our own coffee.  We are small batch roasters which means that we roast our coffee several times a week if not more.  We roast at our Arts & Crafts location @ 170 Glades Road right in front of the Ship pub.  Typically we roast in the AM as it is less busy and we like to shut down to keep the noise levels enjoyable for people wanting to lounge, listen to music while checking thier email.  Be sure to introduce yourself when you visit.  Enjoy your java;  Jeanette
